Technology=Laziness?
Now a days we have computers, video games, tv, cell phones, ipod, and ect. and thats all we use to help us with our homework, to keep us busy and just for fun. but before having fun and keeping busy would be maybe reading, or playin outside going for a walk at the park, and with homework well we would sit and research what we needed. BUT now it revolves around technology.
I do think it makes teenagers lazy, you never see as many people bike riding or running around outside. I saw this commercial on tv of a teenage girl listening to her ipod, while shes texts messaging and on msn, her mom brings her a sandwich, and she doesnt even realize it, untill her mom msn’s her saying something like ‘i put a sandwich beside you’ (i dont know something liek that) and she doesnt even turn she just reaches for it.
I think thats what were like, our life is so focused on that, it’s like the only way to get our attention.
I do go on the computer a lot i admit it, but Im going to try and stop, and this summer be more active then just sitting around on the computer chair and staring at a screen:)

PEPSI MAX!!
Okay, so today mr. penning showed us somethng very interesting in class, an ad that i thought was very interesting. the ad for the new soft drink pepsi max.
In the ads you see one lonley calorie doing some many things that leads too killing himself, and on the side you have a saying that says ‘one very very very lonley calorie’ and just at the bottom right you have the name of it and a small pepsi can.
Obiviously when you first see them you think he’s cute and the ads funny, at least thats what i thought. But then you think of it, and it’s like promoting suicide which isn’t really funny, becaus epeople do kill themselves because they are lonley. We might think of it as a joke saying ‘omg im so bored im gonna shoot my self in the head’ but some people out there do exactly that, and i know people who lost family becasue of suicide.
I don’t think they are taking the ad to far, but I do think that they shouldn’t really make a joke out of it because this is serious, at least to some people out there.
Personally, i like the ad its cute and funny, and it’s liek thery are making fun of there own pepsi. :)

vancouver 2010!
So in 2010 there will be the winter olympics, in vancouver where all different countries will be competing for the gold medal!
I personally don’t care much for the olympics, and i don’t watch them, unlike my father he keeps up to date about whats happening by reading the newspaper or watching it on tv.
Some people would make a big deal over this, but maybe its because this year since its the winter olympics, there would be fun sports to watch like hockey, skiing, snowboarding, luging, figure/speed skating etc..
Maybe Ill even watch a few activities here and there, id like to see what they do and who wins gold, silver and bronze. The olympics are situated in Canada so hopefully we do good this year
Different nationalities come together on the day of the oplympics, and it’s lifetime event to compete against other, compete against amazing athletes world wide and have people watching you.

be COOL, and stay in SCHOOL!
I think the media does help kids and teens today stay in school. Everywhere you go, or hear, to make a living and have a good career you need your high school diploma, without that your gonna have to try a little harder.
The media helps by showing students commercials of the negative views of doing drugs, and dropping out of school. They show children what can happen to you, if you are under influence of drugs and alchol, and how it could lead to not getting your high school diploma. Good ways the media shows us to stay in school are by showing commercials of teens talking about a career and how in todays society we NEED a high school diploma to get a good job.
Teachers or alot of hard work can cause us to drop out, but i think if school was less stressful, and doesn’t get to pushy kids will enjoy it more.
Also the media should show more goodhings about school, on commercials then bad.
